The Fall of the I-Hotel is a historic documentary chronicling the eviction of Filipino American residents from San Francisco’s International Hotel, a defining moment in Asian American civil rights history. The project involved restoring the film while also addressing a broader question: how should a community’s story be preserved, shared, and stewarded in the digital age?
Beyond restoration, the work expanded into a community-led effort to define the long-term legacy of the Manilatown Heritage Foundation and the film itself.
